Pharmacy Clean Room Addition

Scope

Provide mechanical systems design and construction phase services for conversion of an existing office and workroom into a Class 10,000 Clean Room.

Special Circumstances

• Existing mechanical equipment and associated ductwork, controls and piping above the new Clean Room were removed/relocated. 

• A new 1,600 CFM custom air-handling unit was selected to provide HEPA air to the Clean Room Suite, which requires 60 air changes per hour. 

• Space temperature is maintained via an existing variable air volume terminal unit ducted to the return plenum of the air-handling unit.

• All new and relocated equipment located outside of the Clean Room Suite to minimize interruptions during routine maintenance operations.

• The existing pharmacy had to remain in operation during the construction.
