Scope

Mechanical systems design and construction phase services for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for renovation of the existing 29,722 sq. ft. elementary school including a 5,500 sq. ft. addition.

Special Circumstances

• Mechanical cooling provided by water source heat pumps utilizing a tempered water system maintained by 90-ton cooling tower, a plate-and-frame heat exchanger and a side-stream 750 MBh gas-fired boiler.

• Energy recovery ventilators precondition outside air via the building exhaust air.

• Redundant condenser water and tempered water pumps.

• New building automation system (DDC system).

• Waste and vent system in kitchen piped into two new 1,500-gallon grease traps in series.

• High efficiency water heater serving kitchen with two temperature system and mixing valve.

• 60 HP-500 GPM vertical in-line fire pump.

• Physical constraints above ceiling with existing structure.
