Scope

Upgrade the existing condenser water system serving the West Campus chilled water loop. Replace the existing cooling tower with redundant 750-ton towers, designing for an additional two towers in the future.

Special Circumstances

Work completed during occupancy of animal care laboratory.
Route 16” risers through an existing 10-story building from the roof to the basement.
Work required around continuing building occupancy during construction.
Cross-connect the existing 10” rises with the new 16” risers.
Structural supports for the anticipated four cooling towers.
Upgrade of the existing electrical systems to support the new towers and other roof-mounted equipment.
Phasing of the mechanical work to limit the downtime of the chilled water plant.
