Gym and Auditorium Addition and Renovation

Scope

Complete mechanical design and construction phase services for construction of new 35,000 square foot gymnasium building with seating for 2,700 occupants and the addition of a new 30,000 square foot Performing Arts building with 700-seat auditorium, including new Chorus and Band rooms.

Special Circumstances

• Incorporated semi-custom HVAC rooftop equipment with integral heat recovery wheels and modulating hot gas reheat for humidity control.

• Zoned Gymnasium air systems to maximize energy savings during partial occupancy. 

• Utilized Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) strategy for all high-density spaces.

• Designed Auditorium air system to minimize acoustical noise levels.

• Used energy-efficient VAV system with parallel induction units (PIUs) for band
  and chorus suites.
