Scope
Renovate the two existing 1,000-gallon Bio-Level IV decontamination tanks from a steam-jacketed system to a direct inject steam system.

Special Circumstances
Phasing of the project to maintain operability of the BL-IV laboratories during the construction period.
Implementing load cells to determine real time tank capacities.
Structurally isolating the two tanks via flex connectors and piping expansion loops to ensure accuracy of the load cell systems.
Installation of suction tees to inject steam and agitate the waste products within the tank.
Design of a spore test tube to verify proper operation of the system.
Adhering thermocouples to the tank body to acquire an array of temperature readings for control sequencing.
Automating the controls system to include tank filling, cooking, venting, cooling, and draining.
