Scope

Mechanical systems design and construction phase services for building addition, including replacement of fuel storage system with 10,000-gallon underground tank system, reconfiguring and expanding the existing chilled water system to support increased heat load; and new air distribution system for third floor.

Special Circumstances

  • All work, including changing the existing systems and installing the new, had to be phased and completed with building operational and without loss of building services, including building HVAC and standby generator availability.

  • System design redundancy of 66% for both the chilled water and air distribution systems, with a priority on reliability for all systems including fuel system).

  • Limited space on site for the larger generator and fuel tank; special design and construction considerations due to proximity of tank and generator.
