Special Circumstances
Existing fuel storage system met
the Owner’s criteria for standby power generator run time,
but extended run time as desired after the effects seen from
the 2004 hurricane season.
Project design and construction
schedule was compressed to ensure completion before the
start of the 2005 hurricane season.
New 3,000-gallon aboveground
concrete-encased fuel tank provides 200 hours of generator
run time.
All fuel piping between the tank
and the building is installed in Schedule 40 steel piping to
provide debris impact resistance.
New fuel system was tested and
functional one month before the area was impacted by
Hurricane Dennis.
