Generator Replacement and Fuel System Upgrade

Scope

Major electrical system and fuel system upgrade at key telecommunications Central Office. Upgrade included replacement of existing 500 and 750kW standby generators with two new 800kW units, and replacement of all fuel piping, fuel pumps, controls, and interior fuel storage systems.

Special Circumstances

• Maximize interior fuel storage capacity to supplement primary (exterior) storage tank

• Provide redundancy in fuel supply pumping system.

• Provide high level of redundancy and flexibility between generators and interior fuel storage tanks (either generator supplied from either tank, both generators supplied from either interior tank).

• Provide fuel system that allows easy operational testing of system and maintenance.
