Scope

Mechanical systems design and construction phase services for a new 2½‑story, 100,000 sq. ft. central telephone switching facility.  Building is designed for future growth to a total of 200,000 square feet.

Special Circumstances

• Design plans for future high-rise status for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.

• All air handlers serving critical areas feature redundant supply fans and cooling coils.

• The chilled water system design is based on Owner's “N + 1” requirement incorporating 100% redundancy into the central plant.

• Two 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks provide emergency condenser water make-up to the cooling towers.

• The entire building can be powered by emergency generators that are supplied by two 25,000-gallon underground fuel tanks.
